This journal focuses on every aspect of the myrmicine ant Pheidole megacephala, which is considered one of the most invasive ant species in the world. It will also tangentially touch on other dominant invasive ant species, such as Linepithema humile, Solenopsis invicta, Wasmannia auropunctata, and others.
Posts will include research, field notes, reviews of research papers/topics, and perhaps information on the culture of colonies and control methods.
People are welcome to contribute their own notes and other useful information related to the species, so feel free to contact me at banyanwanderer (at) gmail.com.
As an aside, although I have an MS degree in the biological sciences, I am not an entomologist per se, but I do appreciate all the work done by these researchers to expand our knowledge about such fascinating creatures. A short note on my first experience with this species is here.
Enjoy! And learn!
